The strength behind T&R Derma
Thornton and Ross, established in 1922 and based in Huddersfield, is the UK’s largest privately owned manufacturer of pharmaceutical creams, liquids and semi-solids, and the sixth largest OTC company in the UK.
We have over 200 product licenses and 30 brands covering 500 SKU’s within our portfolio which features many leading brands including:
- Covonia® - a leading range of cough, cold and flu medicines
- Hedrin® - launched in 2006 is now the UK’s leading brand of head lice treatment1
- Care® - the biggest OTC brand by volume sold into pharmacy2

T&R Derma - the next step
To develop and manufacture emollients under the T&R Derma brand is a natural progression for Thornton & Ross.
We have the manufacturing experience and proven track record; and already have a range of related dermatology products including;
- Virasoothe® - a breakthrough cooling gel, clinically proven to relieve the distressing symptoms of chicken pox
- Metanium® - the tried and trusted nappy rash ointment
- AfterBURN® and Acriflex® cooling burns gel - both utilising osmotic technology to reduce the effect of minor skin burns
